Spring Break came & went

I haven't been able to post in a few days as I've got bronchitis from a few weeks ago when I had a cold. Today will be my third day on meds and I am praying that this cough and sneezing will be over soon. It's been a month with this horrible cough and yes you can say I'm a little stubborn I only went to the Dr when I got tired of hearing my bf complain about how I needed to see one asap. Of course Dr reprimanded me for not going in sooner as I had actually had this lingering cough for 3weeks.
On a happier note, teaching alone this Spring Break was quite an experience in itself challenging at times but lovely to be able to work with smaller group of kids. I loved how much hands on experiments we were able to do and how I was able to connect with children on a closer level. It gets a little hectic when you have 18-3yr olds to teach and help along the way in activities. Anyway I am thrilled to have found some awesome bloggers whom are teachers and have so many nifty crafts and ideas on their blog! I pretty much spend my whole morning looking through their ideas and planning to do some for our Easter potluck lunch at school! :)

Spring Break!

My days of spring break have been going by too fast, I love having this extra free time. I have gotten back into scrapbooking and card making. I've had time to work out, time to spend with family I don't get to see often, and enjoy the little things we often miss on our go-go days. I am so proud of myself I've kept up with the gym & they say the first week is the hardest to get into habit but it's been pretty motivating week for me. Work went lovely today, although I am a bit nervous about tomorrow I will have two volunteers in the classroom and my co teacher is out of town. It's always a little nerve wrecking when others come into the class. Some kids decide to act out while others are calm as ever, you just never know with children. I do love them all regardless, kind of cute seeing everyone with their own little personality at such a young age. On another note in about a week I will be attending the Juanes Concert which I am absolutely thrilled about it will be my second time seeing him in concert. I highly suggest listening to his music if you haven't already, I really enjoy it and can always count on it to make me smile. Anyway time for bed has arrived,
goodnight

Spring break & School

Yay!! Today was our third day going out and jogging and keeping up with our diet. Yep it's probably too soon to get excited but I am really giving this 100%. May I also mention that I purchased the Nike+ gadget which is pretty awesome. For those of you who may not be aware what this does is keep track of how many calories you burn and how many miles you run. It's a sensor that is placed in the sole of Nike shoes that syncs with the iPod. It keeps me pretty motivated, I find myself often trying to just outrun my boyfriend which is pretty hard to do. Any day that it happens I am just a happy camper.
Today work was a little different, I had just a little over 5 students which made things easier to manage especially with the fussy-ness that comes with saying goodbye to mom. Although I surprisingly got through our art and craft activities a lot faster which threw me off a bit. (It's pretty time consuming when you have 18 kids that all need help learning to use a gluestick and using scissors.) I was glad I had enough back up art activities they could work on to keep busy. Overall today was a learning experience I learned to be flexible and think on my feet. Tonight I will be organizing my lesson plans for next month which are due next week. There is a lot of preparation that goes into it and I have been feeling a little scattered at times.
I am looking for some good teacher websites for worksheets for preschoolers and if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

My lovely Job

I am an aspiring Elementary Education teacher and currently attending college pursuing my Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies as well as my Teacher Certification. I am almost 25 and some days I cannot believe how fast time has gone by since graduating from high school. I've still got a lot more I'd like to accomplish before I settle down and nestle in with my long time boyfriend. I am currently a Co-Lead Teacher for a non profit organization in which we teach preschool aged children English as well as strengthening their Spanish skills. I absolutely love and appreciate my job. I have volunteered at many places before and this job to me has meant the world. I have the opportunity to impact young children's mind and help them reach their potential-to have them believe in themselves at an early age. This job I am truly thankful for, I continue to learn so much from the kids and the other teachers I have the pleasure to work with.
